Thank you to Jeffrey Montes, Susan Doll, and Ariane Chepko for your mentorship and knowledge.
With the decommissioning of the International Space Station in 2030, the spaceflight community is exploring a commercial alternative to maintaining orbiting stations that provide habitable access to microgravity. Blue Origin, along with industry collaborators, have proposed a microgravity orbital station, named Orbital Reef.
Jointly for the Human Spaceflight Portfolio in Advanced Technology and habitat concept work in Advanced Concepts, I produced a holistic design for human habitation that considers both engineering function and architectural experience and conducted a trade study of two system configurations. This concept was designed with Rhino 6 and VRay. I wrote a handbook that covers a study of systems required for human-occupied spaces, terrestrial architecture, and life support needs. I also created a design methodology for integrating engineering systems and architecture designs.
